Meet Dr. Kristen Balutowicz
Becoming a part of the dental team in Troy.
In the fall of 2015, she was fortunate enough to be asked to cover Dr. Victor Wittkowski’s medical leave. From day one, she knew she had found the perfect fit and immediately felt at home among the welcoming staff and friendly, personable patients.
Dr. Balutowicz officially took over the practice in April 2016 and strives to carry on the comfortable and professional environment that Dr. Wittkowski created.

Office Manager
The best part of my job is having fun and seeing people’s smiles when they love their smile.
What aspect of your personality adds the most value to the office?
I would say my positivity and the ability to see the team’s potential before they do!
What do you do outside of the office?
Outside of the office I love going to baseball and football games, barbecuing with family and friends, camping, and traveling.
What’s one item on your bucket list?
I’ve always wanted to visit Australia.

Why did you choose dentistry?
I started in dentistry when I was in high school, so I guess you could say dentistry chose me. I’ve been in dentistry for over 30 years!
What do you do outside of the office?
Outside of the office my family loves boating on Lake St. Clair and traveling.
What’s one item on your bucket list?
I hope to travel to Greece for an extended trip one day!

The reason I joined the dental field is to help patients with their health and provide a brighter smile. I have been a dental assistant for 8 years.
What is the best part of your job?
I enjoy the personal relationships with our patients and our staff.

Why did you choose dentistry?
When I was in college at Oakland University I had an opportunity to do some volunteer work at a dental office. I developed a passion for dentistry and shortly after graduating got a full-time job as a dental assistant.
Dentistry has an artistic approach to it that I love, and it’s always heartwarming seeing a patient smile and be proud and happy with my work.
What is the best part of your job?
The best part my job is getting to know our patients and working with the most amazing co-workers.
What aspect of your personality adds the most value to the office?
I try to bring some fun to the office. As stressful and busy things can get, it’s also important to have a little fun doing it.
What do you do outside of the office?
In my spare time I enjoy hiking with my dog Hitch, kayaking, and playing volleyball.

I love cooking, entertaining family and friends. I also enjoy gardening.

I enjoy being outdoors, weight training, exercise, golf, and spending time with family.
Who is your hero? Why?
My mom! Her love was truly unconditional, she spread positivity, happiness, and beauty everywhere she went. She really found the beauty in the simple things of life.

Why did you choose dentistry?
I graduated in 2011 from Ferris State University with an A.A.S in Dental Hygiene, and have been working full time ever since.
What is the best part of your job?
I pride myself on being up-to-date with the latest technology and therapies available to provide optimal oral health care to all of our patients.
What do you do outside of the office?
When I’m not focused on my career and learning, I enjoy singing, making crafts, and spending quality time with my 2 kids.

Why did you choose dentistry?
I’ve been working in the dental field for more than 20 years! I began my career as a co-op dental assisting student in high school, working for my family dentist. I got my dental hygiene degree in 2000, and joined this practice in 2003.
What is the best part of your job?
I love that I can help people by educating them in a judgment-free space.
What aspect of your personality adds the most value to the office?
I really take the time to listen to all of a patient’s concerns, and together we can decide what’s best for them.
What do you do outside of the office?
I love spending time with close and extended family and friends.

I chose dentistry because I have a passion for helping patients maintain a healthy smile that will last a lifetime.
What is the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is getting to know all my patients on a personal level – they make what I do so enjoyable!

I know the dental office is sometimes associated with fear, so comforting our patients through compassion and empathy is very important to me.
What do you do outside of the office?
When not at the office, I love being with my family, shopping, traveling, and being active.
